Day 32
December 29, 2009 – 7:53 pm
We had to take back the bike we got Koby for Christmas because we were having a few problems with it and it was also too small. We switched it for a newer, bigger one. However this one doesn’t have training wheels. He is less than impressed with the fact that he has to learn to ride it. He is such a negative person, which is a trait he gets from his father unfortunately. Everything is “i can’t” or “it’s too hard” and if he can’t do it first go then he gives up. It is incredibly frustrating to deal with. This was one of many tantrums he had this afternoon while trying to learn how to balance and pedal at the same time. He has already improved since the first time he got on it, but he doesn’t see that. He just lets the frustration of not being able to do it take over.
It’s exhausting to have to be twice as positive to counteract every single negative thing he says but it will be worth it when he gets the confidence he needs to ride on his own. We intend on practising every day of the holidays until he gets there..and he will, despite what he may currently think.
