School Holiday Photo-a-day
June 30, 2009 – 12:51 pm
At the start of the year i began a photo-a-day project where i took a photo of my kids everyday for a month. I was hoping to continue this for the remainder of the year but ended up dropping the ball around day 40-something. But since we are at the beginning of a two week break from school I’ve decided to try and take a photo a day for the next 14 days.
I started yesterday over at the park with the kids, the light was beautiful so i made the most of it. Here are a few favorites, i’ll be back later this afternoon with today’s photo. If anyone else is inspired and want’s to join me for the next two weeks leave a comment and let me know
MIA
June 26, 2009 – 9:47 pm
Sorry it has been a bit quiet in here the past two weeks. I’ve been taking some time off from work for family stuff. My hubby has had the past two weeks off from work on annual leave, so we have been enjoying taking things slow and spending a lot more time than necessary snuggling on the couch watching movies and TV shows like The Office and Dexter, and eating entirely too much junk food. Also Koby and I both celebrated birthdays this week. Mine was on Monday and his was on Thursday. Today we took him and some friends bowling which was a big hit.
I have managed to catch up with all the accounting work i had to do before the end of the financial year and i’m now happy to take bookings for the end of July onwards. Just a reminder to everyone that if you are thinking of having family photos done for Christmas presents it’s always better to organize it sooner rather than later. The absolute latest you would want to organize your session for is October if you expect to get prints back in plenty of time for Christmas.
I know it’s almost impossible to think of Christmas in July but every year i have people contact me at the beginning of December asking if it’s possible to have photos done in time for Christmas and i always feel bad when i have to tell them that they should have organized something a lot earlier. I will be holding my last sessions for the year in November and will not be booking any clients in December at all. So even if you are not planning on having your session until later in the year it’s always best to contact me ASAP so i can schedule time for you.
That’s all for now, i’ll be back later in the week with some photos of some great new products i’m offering from the first of July as well as some photos i’ve been meaning to share. Have a great weekend everyone. xx
Abbotsford Convent | Melbourne photography locations
June 12, 2009 – 11:15 pm
I had a great , if not f-f-f-freeezing, day with the kids and some fellow photography friends down at the Abbosford Convent this morning. I had never been there before but what a fantastic location. I’d love to take some clients back there one day (maybe when the weather warms up a bit) to make the most of all the great spots my kids refused to go near.
I thought i’d share a few favorites from the day, some of my kids and also some other offspring belonging to my friends. I hope you were all more sensible and spent a very fresh and crisp day inside your nice warm homes. Have a great weekend.
Get Heartfelt | Charity Event
June 11, 2009 – 2:09 pm
I have been a proud member of the ACOCP since 2006 and i am very excited to see how much this great charity has grown in the few years it has been in action. For those that don’t know, the ACOCP is an entirely-volunteer service that provides family portraits of children that have been stillborn; died neo-natally; are terminally ill; or have been born very early.
To help bring further attention to this fantastic charity, in the hope that more families will be able to benefit, the ACOCP has organized an exhibition at MLC Gallery, 449 Harris Street, Ultimo NSW. It is free to the public and the showing features 20-30 images of the best of 153 pictures submitted by proud ACOCP photographers with the blessings of the children’s families.
This exhibition draws together family portraits, which display the emotional sensitivity and awareness of these highly skilled and proficient photographers. The images, often taken under difficult circumstances, both technical and personal are warm, beautifully detailed accounts of family love.
There will be a silent auction and celebration event auctioning custom portrait sessions from some of the leading lifestyle and custom portrait photographers in Sydney, and press night on Thursday, 25 June at 6pm.
It will be held from Monday, 22 June 209 to Saturday, 4 July 2009. If you are in the area please take the time to go and have a look at some of these fantastic images. Being that it is interstate and my son and I are both celebrating birthdays that weekend, i will unfortunately not be attending. However, here are two of the images i have in the exhibition, Emily and Patrick. It would have been fantastic to see them printed up and hanging in the gallery, but for now i’ll have to use my imagination until someone can send me a photo LOL
