Aren’t big sisters fun.| Happy snaps | Melbourne Kids portraits

Yesterday I left Noah on my bed with Charlee like this (exploring his hands which is his new favourite thing to do). i had to answer the phone and she was sitting on the bed playing with some stickers.

i returned less than five minuets later to this..accompanied by many gigles from a certian young lady.

he looks just as impressed as i was.

About a boy | Melbourne portraits

Koby is not the keenest model. In fact, like most eight year old boys i know, he can think of nothing worse than having his photo taken. He either runs away…or worse…he stands there making faces and showing off. But occassionally i will catch him off gaurd or he will sit still for a millisecond long enough for me to catch a shot of the real him. He is a smart cookie and i can already see in him elements of a pre-teen that i am SO not ready to see. He is no longer “little”. He is almost a tween *gasp*. He is embarrassed about girls (pretty sure he is at least on to girlfriend number 3). Loves maths, reading and anything computer game related. His favourite shows are Tom and Jerry, the Simpsons, Man vs Wild and Mythbusters. His favourite colour is black. He has a VERY strong opinion on what he wants and likes and is not at all afraid to voice that opinion. I tried to get him to put on a nice plain striped t-shirt but he flat out refused, so i said he could go and pick something else under one condition…that it did NOT  have bloody Ben 10 on it….guess what he walks out in..with the biggest “what are you gonna do about it” expression on his face *sigh*. There was really no point arguing.

When you get yourself into an argument with Koby you need to brace yourself and be prepared to be in it for the long haul. This kids does NOT give up. Ever. He always has to have the final word and most of the time i just let him win (or at least let him think he has won) because i just simply don’t have the energy to launch into the where, why and what of it all. A simple “because i’m mummy and i say so” no longer cuts it as far as he’s concerned.

He is exhausting, brilliant, frustrating, lovable, messy, lazy, handsome and funny.

It’s interesting….

…what you can find to photograph when there are no children about.

Come on spring…..

nearly there..you can do it.
