Not long now

I thought it was about time i came back in here and gave a bit of a status update. I am now 37 weeks pregnant and due to have a c-section on the 10th of May. I have had an incredibly hard two months and i am well and truly over being pregnant now. I just want this little man safely out and wrapped up in a bundle.

I had a lovely friend of mine, Dannii (from Kipindi Photography) take some maternity shots for me last week. I had a whole heap of ideas involving watermelons but unfortunately they were too heavy for my kids to hold properly LOL..oh well, i find their expressions hilarious and i’m still really happy with what Dannii was able to capture. Me and the three most important things in my life.

Dannii has her own edited versions of the shots on her blog, but i couldn’t resist having a play around with them in photoshop as well. Here are a few favourites. Hopefully the next time i post i’ll have some cute little baby photos to show. Wish me luck.

I am still planning on resuming See Be Art photo sessions from around August/September onwards. So if you would like to be placed on the waiting list for when bookings open again let me know :)

When i first met Sylvie (who is two and a bit) she came up and said “hi, my name is Sylvie, you are wearing purple. That’s my favourite colour”. From that moment on i knew we’d be good mates.

These guys have been renovating their dream home for the past year and wanted the session to take place there even though it was a few months off being finished. The dangling wires and half empty paint tins provided a very interesting backdrop, but this is their life at the moment and they wanted to capture it before it all changed in a few weeks with the addition of #2.

It was a pleasure working with them and makes my job so much easier when photographing families like M and C who just “get it” in regards to me and the way i work. Not everything has to be perfect and tidy and pristine ALL the time and especally not while your having photos taken. Because that’s just life. Not everything is perfect all the time, but it’s still important to record it.

On Sunday I had the pleasure of heading for a lovely drive through the country to meet up with Briony and Mark, who are expecting their first little bundle in a few weeks. Mark is my husbands cousin and it was a pleasure taking photos them in their lovely home. We even got their cute fur-babies involved. I can’t wait to go back in a few weeks time to meet their new little bubba and take some more photos, but for now here are a few favourite bump shots.

Maternity

I met up with my good friend Dannii and her family this morning to take some maternity photos. We were hoping to go down to a great outdoors location but the weather had other plans. So unfortunately we were stuck inside. But that’s life, so instead we had to make do with high ISO’s, low shutter speeds and lots of grain. Hopefully the weather will clear up in the next week or so and we’ll get to try again before she pops.

Since I had nothing better to do this afternoon, i have already finished editing them.  I haven’t done a maternity shoot in quite sometime, so it was fun to edit and nice to have a change of subject matter. And i’ll tell you what..if i looked this good in my 3rd pregnancy (after twins to boot) than i’d happily strip off and show the world as well LOL.
